Doha, Qatar:
Emirates rider Abdullah Humaid on Tip Top stole the show in
the Open Farewell Competition of the fifth Qatar International
Showjumping Championship

on
the final day yesterday at the Rayyan Park.
Humaid finished in a time of 28.15 seconds in the jump-off
and relegated to second place Ramzy al-Duhami on Corretto
(28.38s) to second place while Qatar's star rider Ali Yousef
al-Romaihi was third on Logo 28 (28.78s).
Humaid started strongly in the final round and made up for
his poor show in the qualifiers in which however al-Romaihi
impressed with a time of 64.92seconds.
UAE riders packed the jump-off list by occupying half the
spots.
Humaid was elated with the result. "I am very happy because
the margin is quite big. Ramzy is a good rider but couldn't
have covered the time difference," said Humaid.
Qatar's al-Romaihi was happy with the consolation

prize landed on the last day of the contest. "I am glad
but I could have done much better. The first two days were
a disappointment," said al-Romaihi.
Another Qatari rider Bader Mohamed al-Darwish finished 12th
on Adonis after picking up four penalties.
Bringing up the rear were Saudi Adnan al-Baitouly in fourth
spot, followed by Tariq al-Arnout of Syria, Khalid al-Juneibi
of the UAE, Prince Abdullah bin Miteb of Saudi Arabia, and
Qatar Cup winner Mohamed al-Kumeiti.
The winner went home richer by QR4410 while the rider in second
spot received QR3990.
