– Qatar's Socrates ridden by Saad Waheed Al-Kawari clinched the
Class 1A International Championship title in time 30' 61 seconds
in a clear jump off at the Al-Rayyan Park on Wednesday.
The other contender from the same stable, Muhareb ridden by
Hammed Nasser Al-Qadi finished second to clock 35' 78secs with a
clear jump off, ahead of Saudi Arabia's Leelou D'Adriera ridden
by Abdulla Aba Al-Khail for the third clear jump off in 37'
49secs to settle for third overall.
Later three prizes were awarded bearing four penalties to the
riders, Hero owned by Seteh Khalid Al-Mandil and ridden by Haifa
Al-Saderi clocked in 51' 17secs, two seconds behind Qatar's
Norina (Zeoliet - Joostje) owned by Qatar Equestrian Federation
(QEF) and ridden by Khalid Al-Malki finished fifth, compatriot
Khajim Faraj Al-Marri riding Muntaser from the QEF stable
gathered sixth position.
Six riders were felicitated by QEF Officials, from the 26 riders
who participated in the competition for 10 obstacles and 12
jumps in the overall jump-off time 69secs.
The first competition for Junior and Young riders with one
jump-off begins at 14:00 hrs in the main arena in the outskirts
of Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) at Al-Rayyan Park.
Starting at 16:30hrs competition 2 in two phases under the FEI
rules and regulations of Articles 274.5.3 for 120cm fences a
spread of 140cm and speed 350m/m be held, as per the competition
rules two horses be allotted per rider for the prize money QR
30,000.
Competition No.3 will kick off at 19:00hrs in the category for
six bars under the FEI rules on Article 262.3.1 – 3.4 for fences
height 120cm and two horses per rider conditions to grab QR
30,000.
A technical meeting be held after the competitions at the QEF
arena.
