 The
first round of Qatar Show jumping championship for the sport
season 2009-2010 was concluded on Friday at the indoor arena of
Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF).
The event
witnessed the participation of 72 riders competed in four
categories.
The first
round was attended by, Mr. Taleb Metaab Al Saaq, QEF Secretary
General, Mr. Fahad Al Mass, Head of Financial Committee, Miss
Danah Al Manai, Head of Judges Committee, Mr. Saleh Al Ghanim,
Head of protocol committee, Mr. Ahmad Al Badawi, QEF Technical
expert. Mr. Abdulkarim, Designer of QEF Arena.
Mr. Rashid
Bin Ali Al Mansouri, QEF President said the championship was
beneficial as participants examined their skills and mental
abilities before participation in the next rounds and 2009
edition of global champions tour to which final round will be
staged in Qatar from November 11-13, 2009.
 Al
Mansouri added that QEF aim is to found a number of national
teams to represent Qatar in international events including the
preparations for Arab, Asian and Olympic Games.
"We are
delighted with the spectacular opening of Show Jumping season in
Qatar as we wish to achieve more development and promotion for
Qatari Equestrian in light of the great support of Qatar Olympic
Committee" stressed QEF president.
Al
Mansouri lauded the efforts of show jumping committee members
before the beginning of the sport season as they provided riders
with their need and contributed to the success of QEF programs
and plans.
 The
championship featured tough competitions amid participants where
riders were keen to do their best as the first class was held at
1600hrs in the indoor arena of QEF in Al Rayyan at the height of
90cm with participation of 31 riders under FIE rules, table (A)
article 238.
