DOHA,
December 21, 2009 – With attendance of HE Sheikh Saoud Bin
Abdulrahman Al Thani, Secretary General of Qatar Olympic
Committee, the Qatar International show Jumping Championship on
National Day and Founder Cup commenced at the arena of Qatar
Equestrian Federation on Sunday.
The championship is crucial round in the
Arab Show Jumping League, as the winners qualify to the World
Cup 2010 in USA.
Around 150 riders representing Qatar,
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, Yemen, Syria, Spain,
Lebanon, Egypt and Britain are participating in the QAR 755,000
richer championship.
Abdullah Al Sharbatli of Saudi Arabia
claimed the second class on the horse "Hojo Jesmeray". Ramzi of
Saudi Arabia managed second while his compatriot Fahad Al Eid
settled in the third place.
In
Youth Competitions for the height of 120 CM Salem Ahmad Al
Suwaidi of Saudi Arabia won the first place. Aysha Al Qaoud of
Kuwait in occupied the fourth place ahead of Qatar’s Abdulrahman
Nasar in the fifth place.
The third class for the height of 140 CM
was held late in the evening with participation of 32 riders
including Prince Abdullah of Metaab, Meshari Al Arabi, Fahad Al
Eid, Ramzi Al Dahami, Abdullah Al Sharabatli of Saudi Arabia,
Sheikh Majid Al Qasimi, Sheikh Shakhbout Al Nahyan, Mohammad
Ghanim Al Hajri, Aref Ahmad, Khalid Al Jenaibi, Abdulrahman,
Ahamad Al Jenaibi, Mohammad Qutait, Adel Khamis, Abdullah Hamid
of UAE and Dhiaa Omro of Egypt. |
