DOHA – Egypt's Tulipan owned and ridden by Nayel Nassar
seized the juniors and young riders
crown
at the ongoing seventh edition of Qatar International Show
Jumping Competition at the Al-Rayyan Park.
The 16-year-old Nassar, got richer by QAR 2,880 after clocking
the best time of 39.58secs, ahead of Okkie (Libero H - Enomia)
owned by HE Sheikh Ali Abdulla Al-Qasimi of UAE for the picking
of QAR 2,280, it was Al-Qasimi again for the third place but on
Cash Only (Cash – Unellie 42) this time to take QAR 1,440.
Egyptian Nassar appreciated the efforts of the organisers and
praised the beautiful course in Qatar.
"This is a beautiful course and the organisers have done good
job to keep it intact, it has a good opening though," said
Nassar after the felicitation ceremony.
In preparation for the competition, Nassar travels to Germany in
Summer and in autumn he visits Kuwait with his horses for
training.
"I travel to Germany and Kuwait in different weathers to get
acquainted with the conditions which are similar to the
competitions," added the winner.
After
a great season, registering wins in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Bahrain
and now in Qatar, Nassar plans to take keep the pace going.
"I have registered 1-2 place in Abu Dhabi, 2nd in Sharjah, 1-2
in Bahrain and 1st here, this has been a good season so far and
I am planning to keep up the pace and do better in each
competitions," explained Nassar.
Clear in the jump off, Ali Al-Khorafi of Kuwait riding Femina
owned by Kuwait RC finished fourth to get hold of QAR 1,080.
For fifth and sixth places with four penalties, UAE's Natalie
079 owned and ridden by Salim Ahmed Al-Suwaidi claimed fifth
spot with QAR 960, while hosts Qatar's Canaster owned by Qatar
Equestrian Federation and ridden by Abdul Rahman A Nasar managed
sixth overall for QAR 840.
Taleb Al-Saaq, Secretary General of Qatar Equestrian Federation
(QEF) felicitated the six winners of the competition, which was
also attended by Her Excellency Sheikha Mayassa Bint Hamad Al-Thani,
daughter of The Emir of the State of Qatar. |
