VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS, HORSE/PONY INSPECTIONS
& PASSPORT CONTROLS
These will be carried out in accordance with the Veterinary
Regulations, Art. 1011, 9th Edition, 1st January 2002 and
the Jumping Rules, Annex VII, 21st edition effective 1st January
2003.

“General
Regulations”, 21th Edition, 2005, will apply:
Art.
139.1
Every horse/pony entered for any competition at CSNs or CSI*
in a foreign country, and all horses/ponies entered for other
CSI**/***/****/*****, CSIOs, Championships, Regional and Olympic
Games, whether at home or in foreign countries, must have
an official, valid FEI Passport, or a National Passport approved
by the FEI accompanied by an FEI Recognition Card, as a means
of identification and to establish ownership.
Art.
139.2
Horses/ponies taking part in CSNs and CSI* in their own country
are not required to have such a passport as mentioned in paragraph
1. All such horses/ponies must be properly registered and
identifiable by diagram. Unless there is no national requirement
for equine influenza vaccination in the host country and in
the country of origin all horses/ponies must have a valid
vaccination certificate.
EQUINE
INFLUENZA VACCINATION, VET. REGS. APPENDIX VI (except events
taking place in NZL & AUS)
All horses and ponies for which an FEI Passport, or a National
Passport approved by the FEI has been issued, must have the
vaccination section endorsed by a veterinarian, stating that
it has received two injections for primary vaccination against
equine influenza, given no less than 21 days and no more than
92 days apart.
In addition, a booster injection must be recorded as having
been given within each succeeding 12 months, subsequent to
the second injection of the primary vaccination. None of these
injections must have been given within the preceding 7 days
including the day of the competition or of entry into the
competition stables.
The
above are the minimum requirements for influenza vaccination.
Both primary and first and subsequent booster injections should
be given according to the manufacturer's instructions, which
will fall within the stipulation of the FEI ruling. In many
cases booster injections are recommended by the manufacturers
and by National Veterinary Authorities/Regulatory Authorities
at intervals more frequent than 12 months.
SAMPLING
FOR PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES (Vet. Regs. Chapter V & VI and
Annex III)
Regular sampling is carried out in CCI***/****, CSI***/****/*****,
CIOs, World Cup Qualifiers and Finals, Championships and Games,
whereas at other CIs sampling is recommended. In CICs***/****,
the number of horses tested is at the discretion of the Testing
Veterinarian/Veterinary Delegate; however, a minimum of three
is recommended (Art. VR 1017.1)
Special
guidelines are applicable for events covered by the FEI Medication
Control Programme (Groups I & II only).
MEDICATION
CONTROL PROGRAMME (GROUP I & II ONLY)
The Organising Committees of FEI events within Groups I &
II are advised to charge competitors the equivalent of CHF
12.50 per horse/pony per event as a contribution towards the
costs of the MCP programme.

CUSTOMS' FORMALITIES
•
The Qatar Equestrian Federation representatives will be present
at the border crossing points in order to sign in-out insurance
for the horses in the time of the arrival.
• Sanitary certificate from the Ministry of Agriculture
of every country and FEI valid passport are required.
• Qatar border crossing points are opened 24 hours every
day.

MISCELLANEOUS
1) OBJECTIONS/COMPLAINTS - (Art. 167, 168, 170 & 171)
All
complaints and objections to be valid must be made in writing
and accompanied by a deposit of CHF 150.- or equivalent.

PRIZE –GIVING CEREMONY
The best 25% of riders have to present themselves for the
prise giving ceremony immediately after each competition
The owner of the winning horse will be invited to the prize
giving ceremony for the grand prix
4)
DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES AND INDEMNITIES (Art. 130)
All prize money will be distributed following the end of every
competition.
A minimum of 5 prizes (prize money)will be distributed. Twenty-five
percent of participants per competition will receive prize-money
6) DOCTOR, VETERINARIAN, FARRIER
-One ambulance with doctor will be available during the event.
-Veterinarian will be available 24 hours in vicinity of the
stables area
-Ferrier will be available daily 8.00-12.00hours and one hour
before every competition till the end of the competition.
7) INSURANCES
“All owners and competitors are personally responsible
for damages to third persons caused by themselves, their employees,
their agents or their horses/ponies. They are therefore strongly
advised to take out third-party insurance providing full coverage
for participation in equestrian events at home and abroad,
and to keep the policy up to date.”
8) EVENT'S ORGANISATION (Art. 115.2)
In exceptional circumstances, together with the approval of
Chefs d'Equipe and Ground Jury the OC reserves the right to
modify the schedule in order to clarify any matters or matters
arising from an omission or due to unforeseen circumstances.
Any such changes must be notified to all competitors and officials
as soon as possible and they must be reported to the Secretary
General by the Foreign Judge.
9) ENTRY RIGHT TO SHOWGROUNDS (Art. 133)
Special identification cards for the right of entry to show
grounds for ,officials, chefs d'equipe owners, veterinarians,
grooms, riders and other persons will be available at the
show secretariat,
10) DEDUCTIONS FROM PRIZE MONEY: 4, 5%

SCHOOLING DURING COMPETITIONS
Riders
wishing to school during speed competitions must inform the
OC before these competitions begin. These riders will start
first in these competitions
12)START LISTS & RESULT SHEETS
The
name of the owner of each horse will be added to all start
lists and result sheets.
13)DISPUTES
In
the event of any discussion concerning the interpretation
of the schedule (in translated languages), the English version
will be decisive.
